About

Renowned soloist, chamber musician, pedagogue, and adjudicator Rasa Vitkauskaite teaches a large number of students at her private studio in Cambridge, where she also offers lessons for Conservatory level pianists and college students. Online lessons are available as well. The long-serving, critically acclaimed pianist of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Rasa is also a member of the Music Teachers National Association, the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association, and Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society.

A frequent guest teacher, Rasa has recently given masterclasses, private lessons, and chamber music coachings at institutions and festivals around the globe such as Ohio University, University of Akron, National University of Rosario in Argentina, Carlos Gomes State Institute in Belém, Brazil, “Ciutat de Xàtiva” International Music Festival in Spain, Longy School of Music of Bard College, and New England Conservatory Preparatory School, just to name a few.

In addition to her active performing and teaching career, Ms. Vitkauskaite is a highly sought-after adjudicator having most recently judged the Granite State, Steinway Society, University of Rhode Island, Westfield State University, and Massachusetts Music Teachers Association Bay State piano competitions and Musical Achievement Evaluations, among others.

As an accomplished performer and highly acclaimed recording artist, Rasa Vitkauskaite has dedicated her career to providing excellence in piano performance education, and she derives great joy from helping her students to achieve the highest levels of technical command and ease of playing and performing, and to continuously develop their musicianship, all in a totally nurturing and supportive setting. Rasa encourages detailed score study as both an inspiring and motivating force for students that challenges their curiosity to dig deeper into piano performance scholarship and music in general. Her ultimate goal is to prepare students as versatile performers and to help them find their personal path to success in today’s ever changing musical world. As both pedagogue and performer, Rasa strives to enhance the status of classical music in American culture and around the globe.

Rasa’s students have won prizes at various competitions and festivals, including First Prizes at Massachusetts Music Teachers Association Bay State Contest and Judged Festival, Westfield State University Young Artist Piano Competition, Brookline Symphony Concerto Competition, Little Mozarts International Piano Competition, and have successfully completed the ABRSM and Royal Conservatory Music Development programs with distinction.
